Breast Enlargement (Breast Augmentation)
Breast enlargement is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedures. Most women request this surgery because they want to improve breast size and shape, body proportion, and have more freedom with their clothing choices. Others are simply trying to restore breast shape which has diminished following pregnancy. No matter what the reason, we have found that breast enhancement can dramatically improve a woman's quality of life.
The procedure is performed by placing saline implants through a small incision that usually becomes inconspicuous upon healing. The incisions may be placed beneath the breast near the areola or in the armpit. The results are characterized by improved contour and breasts with a youthful, natural appearance. Surgery is performed at a first class ambulatory facility and takes about two hours to complete. Our patients shower the very next day and frequently return to work within several days. Our patients who have undergone breast augmentation are thrilled with the results. This procedure may also be performed in conjunction with breast lift, liposuction or a tummy tuck for total body contour improvement.
Endoscopic Breast Augmentation
Endoscopic breast augmentation is the application of minimally invasive techniques to surgery of the breasts. It is performed through a small incision in the armpit utilizing a surgical telescope to insert the breast implant. The entire operation is performed in full view on a television screen. This new procedure allows for precise positioning of the implants through an inconspicuous scar resulting in less bruising, swelling and discomfort for the patient. Many women love the fact that scars on the breasts are eliminated. Compared to the "belly button" method of breast augmentation, the endoscopic technique is preferred because of improved symmetry without the abdominal pain and abdominal bruising. Recovery is shorter too, usually within one week.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
For women who are pleased with the size of their breasts, but desire only improvement in breast shape, a breast lift (mastopexy) may be the solution. The procedure may also be helpful to reduce enlarged nipple-areolar complexes (pigmented skin around the nipples). Please ask your doctor about some of the new minimal scar techniques than are now available. If you would like to learn more about mastopexy, please call our office for a complimentary consultation.
Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammoplasty)
For most women with overly large breasts, there is a great deal of extra stress placed on the back, shoulders and neck, resulting in discomfort and sometimes even intense pain. Many factors such as pregnancy, weight fluctuation and gravity can cause skin and breast tissue to stretch. Breast reduction surgery, often combined with a breast lift, provides more youthful uplifted breasts that are in better proportion to the patient's body. The vast majority of our patients report that their discomfort is greatly eliminated. Women of all ages, from teenagers on, have benefited from this surgery with improved comfort, more choices with clothing, and greatly improved self-esteem. Sometimes this procedure is covered by health insurance. Our staff will gladly assist you in determining your plan benefits.
Breast Reconstruction
The development of new technologies in reconstructive surgery has encouraged the majority of women who undergo mastectomy to choose breast reconstruction. The latest surgical techniques can create breasts that look and feel very much like the natural breast. Our doctors are highly experienced in performing reconstruction with both implants as well as your own tissue. During your consultation, the doctor will discuss your concerns and determine the best course of action for your specific needs. Knowing the reconstructive options that are available with mastectomy gives our patients a reassuring positive outlook for the future.
Correction of Breast Asymmetry
Developmental breast asymmetry is a natural condition affecting many women whereby uneven breast development leads to breasts of different sizes or shapes. Many patients have confided that their concerns about asymmetry often lead to feelings of diminished self-esteem, intimacy issues, and practical problems associated with poorly fitting clothes.
Although developmental breast asymmetry is usually noted in late adolescence, many women wait unnecessarily until early adulthood to seek medical attention.
Fortunately, the development of new techniques borrowing from the field of breast reconstruction, enlargement and lifting, have enabled our surgeons to "perform miracles" for many patients. Creating breast symmetry and balance can restore a woman's quality of life in immeasurable ways. Each patient's condition is unique and requires a highly individualized treatment plan, and we would be pleased to show you how we can help. Simply call us for your complimentary consultation.
